About Pi Directors

The principal Directors of Pi each have a minimum of 18-years experience in the UK residential and commercial property market, with direct responsibility for sales, lettings and property management and development. They have worked together in real estate since 2008. They have acted on transactions in excess of £240million, and managed a portfolio of 2,400 residential properties. They have specialist expertise and knowledge of Housing Associations in which the Pi syndicate focuses.

Ewan McGarrie


After graduation from university in Edinburgh, Ewan began his professional career in the City of London, working in investor relations and financial public relations with both listed and private companies. His sector focus was within financial services and real estate, advising asset management firms and some of the largest UK real estate developers. He advised senior and board level directors on numerous contested acquisitions, capital raisings and flotations.

Whilst working in the City, he continued to build his residential property investment portfolio from his initial foray at university, expanding into residential property development. Returning to his first passion of real estate after several years in the City, he founded Propertyinvestment (Pi) in 2006 as a specialist property investment advisor and manager, focusing on UK residential and commercial real estate.

He has negotiated and transacted in excess of £240m, in large-scale mixed-use UK and European residential/commercial developments, with a particular focus within the affordable housing sector.

His core investment theme is real estate with a strong value proposition in undervalued locations and sectors with the provision of attractive rental yields and capital gain.  With expertise in property development, management and distressed purchase and disposal, applied to focus on prime investment opportunities that typically benefit from not being on the mainstream investor radar, due to the need for specialist sector knowledge and experience.

Anthony Day


After study mathematics at St Andrews University, Anthony entered the real estate profession in 2002.  He advised on residential and commercial property in sales, lettings, and property management. During which he oversaw expansion into new markets in the UK and Europe. The 2008 financial crash opened up new investment strategies in which Anthony advised major institutions and private investors on distressed asset purchase and disposal.

Anthony has extensive property management experience over a diverse portfolio of several thousand properties.

In 2010, Anthony founded a successful property development company, adding further to his in-depth level of real estate expertise.  His development company focused mainly in the supply of residential and social housing property.

In 2019, Anthony joined a local Housing Association with the broad remit to advise on growing their commercial revenue, reinvestment into community projects and schemes. His specialist knowledge gained in this sector affords the Pi syndicates with critical experience and commercial know-how.

Outside of work, Anthony is kept busy with his family and young son.  He is a keen golfer, occasional rugby player and clay pigeon shooting enthusiast.
